According to Cassius Dio, the Roman Senate granted Augustus a triumphal arch to be erected in the Roman Forum following the Battle of Actium. Nothing today remains of the arch except its foundation, which is located at the Forum's eastern end, spanning the Via Sacra between the Temple of Castor and Pollux and the Temple of Caesar.
